The FIRNED-Framework provides for the integration of the  Fourth Industrial Revolution Economic Development Initiatives (FREDIs) and existing and future National Economic Development Initiatives and Programs (NEDIPs) of African countries. This integration allows for the implementation of the FREDIs to supplement, complement, and augment the NEDIPs of the African countries to accelerate the development of their 4IR economy.

The FIREDIs are, therefore, not intended to supplant or replace existing or future National Economic Development Initiatives and Programs (NEDIPs) but rather to supplement, complement, and augment them towards the development of the 4IR economy of a given African country. Some of these NEDIPs include National ICT4D Strategies and Plans, National SDG Programs, National AU Agenda 63 Economic Development Initiatives, National Education Reform Programs, Smart Cities and Urban Development Programs, National Digitalization Strategies and Initiatives, National Science and Technology Strategies, among others.
